INDI EVENT 1 2021

Single Trap, is a great Fitness Test that we propose as a result of playing with the Fittest In Cape Town Semifinal proposal: The Double Trap Test 5. For this test we wanted to give it our MAD touch.

Scoring

Total time to complete the workout.

Workout Flow

Each athlete starts on his line, on the starting mat, after the sound of the beep, the athlete rides on the bike until all the target calories are completed.

Then the athlete performs 15 box step overs with the dumbbells, leaves the dumbbells in front of the box and finally goes to the barbell where he or she will perform 15 overhead squats in the designated area. The event ends when the athlete stops the timer on his buzzer

 

Movement Standards

Assault Air Bike

The athlete will complete the target calories while riding the bike. The athlete needs to stay on the bike until the monitor reads the target calories. The athlete cannot hop off the bike before the monitor reads the target calories.

Dumbbell Box Step Over

The athlete will start facing one side of the box, holding two dumbbells, one with each hand, he or she will pass to the other side of the box only above, going up to the box, stepping on the upper surface with both feet, passing to the other side, touching the ground again with both feet. The dumbbells cannot rest on the legs when climbing the box. Nor can they be put down on the box at any time. The rep is credited when the athlete steps down from the box and both feet touch the ground.

Overhead Squat

The movement begins with the athlete holding a barbell in the overhead position, and will perform a squat. At the bottom, the crest of the hip needs to be clearly below the top of the knee. Only the hands may touch the bar. The repetition ends with the full extension of the elbows, knees and hips, with the bar over the head or slightly back with the frontal plane. A Squat Snatch permitted for the first rep of each set.

TEAM EVENT 2 2021

Scoring

Total time to complete the workout.

Workout Flow

Each athlete starts on his line, touching the chestpiece (located where it signs the first round -R1), after the sound of the beep, the athlete starts running until he or she is done with the 3 laps (150m each), after the 3rd lap, the athlete will do the targeted reps for the Ring Muscle-Ups, then the athlete will move to the wall balls. When the first round is finished, the athlete will need to move the chestpiece to the next section (R2), so everybody knows where he/she is on the workout. The athlete will continue in this fashion, moving the chestpiece after every round. The event finishes when the athlete stops on the finishing mat after his/her last round.

Movement Standards

Running
It is mandatory to run inside his/her line when it is needed. Disturbing the other athletes it is not permitted on the 150m course and will be punished.
Ring Muscle-Up

The athlete must begin with or pass through a hang below the rings, with the arms fully extended (with or without a false grip) and the feet off the ground. The feet may not rise above the height of the rings during the kip.

The elbows must be fully locked out while in the support position above the rings. Kipping the muscle-up is acceptable, but swings or rolls to support are not permitted. If consecutive kipping muscle-ups are performed, a change of direction below the rings is required.

Wall-Ball

In the wall-ball shot, the medicine ball must be taken fromthe bottom of a squat, hip crease below the top of the knee, and thrown to hit the target. The ball must hit the face of the target. If the ball hits the bottom or the side of the target, it is a “no rep”. The ball needs to hit in the center of the target. If the ball drops to the ground from the top, it cannot be caught off the bounce to begin the next rep. The ball must settle on the ground before being picked up for the net rep.

Workout Flow

Athletes will run 5000m course through the Vía Verde in Ciudad Real, every athlete will be running with a 9 kilo ruck on their backs. Time starts when they cross the starting line and the time stops when the athlete have crossed the finish line after running the full course.

Movement Standards

Running It is a weighted run with a 9 kilo ruck on the back. It is forbidden to take off the back pack and it is mandatory to bring the ruck to the finish line.

INDI EVENT 4 2021

Scoring

The way this event is scored, will be the total time it takes to complete the last round every athlete completes. The best scores will advance to the next round.

Workout Flow

It is a 3 movements ladder (3 deadlift, 2 clean & 1 snatch). Athletes will need to complete all lifts as fast as possible in heats of 8 athletes. Every round is an elimination round.

After the sound of the beep, the athlete will do 3 deadlifts, go over the bar, complete 2 cleans, go over the bar and perform 1 snatch, then will finish by pressing the buzzer to stop the time.

If they advance to the next round, they will repeat in this fashion with heavier loads for the next rounds where the fastest athletes will advance.

In order to advance to the next round you will need to be one of the fastest athletes and make the cut.

All athletes will compete in the first round, athletes will be eliminated in this manner:

ELITE MALE: ROUND 1: 64 athletes start, 40 slowest will be eliminated. ROUND 2: 24 athletes start, 16 will be eliminated. FINAL ROUND: 8 athletes start.

Elite FEMALE: ROUND 1: 48 athletes start, 32 slowest will be eliminated. ROUND 2: 16 athletes start, 8 will be eliminated. FINAL ROUND: 8 athletes start.

Movement Standards

Deadlift
 The barbell starts on the ground. Your hands must be outside your knees. Sumo deadlifts are not allowed. The rep is credited when your hips and knees reach full extension and your shoulders are behind the bar.

Each rep starts with the bar on the ground. Power, squat, and split cleans are permitted. Hang cleans are NOT permitted. The bar must be lifted to the shoulders in one motion. The rep is counted when the athlete’s hips and knees are extended with feet in line, bar on the shoulders and the elbows slightly forward when viewed from profile. The athlete may not lower the bar until they reach the finish position.
Snatch
Each rep starts with the bar on the ground. Power, squat, and split snatches are permitted. Hang snatches are NOT permitted. INDI EVENT 5 2021

FLOW

The event starts with the athlete behind the rig standing on the starting mat, after the beep, the athlete will perform 21 toe-to-bar, then the athlete will go to the D-ball to perform 21 ground-to-shoulder and continue this way for another two rounds, one with 15 reps and the other one with 12 reps, athletes need to move the D-ball forward after every set. Once the last set is finished, the second part of the event starts with another 3 rounds, this time with bar muscle-up instead of toe-to-bars and a hevier D-Ball; now the rep scheme will be 9, 6 and 3 of each movement.

Toe-to-bar:
The movement begins with the athlete hanging from the bar, (any grip will be valid) with the feet off the ground and the arms fully extended, the repetition is credited when both feet touch the bar at the same time, between the hands. The arms and hips must extend completely below the bar and the feet must pass behind the bar and the body. Any part of the foot may touch the bar, including the lower part, but it will not be allowed for movement using the sole against the bar.
D-Ball Clean
The ball begins on the ground, the athelte will move the ball on the shoulder. The repetitions is credited when the athelte complete the extension of the hips and the knees with ball on the shoulder. It is alowed drop the ball back or forward. It is allowed touch and Go.
Br Muscle-Up:
The athlete must begin with or pass through a hang below the bar, with the arms fully extended and the feet off the ground. Kipping the muscle-up is acceptable, but pull-overs, rolls to support and glide kips are not permitted. The heels may not rise above the height of the bar during the kip. At the top, the elbows must be fully locked while the athlete is in the support position above the bar with the shoulders over or in front of the bar. Athletes must pass through some portion of a dip-to-lockout over the bar. Only the hands, and no other part of the arm, may touch the pull-up bar to assist the athlete in completing the rep. Removing the hands and resting while on top of the bar is not allowed.

INDI EVENT 6

Scoring

Total time to complete the workout.

Workout Flow

This event introduces a heavy jumping rope with heavy handles and heavy cable. The athlete starts on the start / finish mat, after the sound of the beep; the athlete will perform 40 double unders, then will run to the other side of the field to push the tank mid field for 20m. The athlete will go back to the jumping area where he/she will jump another 40 double unders, then will push the tank for the last 20 meters. The athlete will perform 40 double unders to then pull from the strings attached to the tank and drag it mid field for 20 meters. Then perform another 40 double unders for the last time before dragging the tank for the last 20 meters to the other side of the field, once the tank is across the final line, the athlete will run back to the start / finish mat, time stops when the athlete steps on it.

Master +35 athletes jump 30 double unders.

Movement Standards

Double Under
The rope passes under the feet twice for each jump. The rope must spin forward for the rep to count. Only successful jumps are counted, not attempts.
Tank Push
The tank starts behind the line. The athlete will push the tank forward until it has crossed the line completely. The athlete is responsible to keep the tank inside his lane. The athlete cannot modify any adjustment on the drag resistance nor the load that carries, doing so will incur in elimination from the competition.
Tank Drag
The tank starts behind the line. The athlete will pull from the strings attached to the tank, so the tank moves towards the athlete’s position (backwards) until the tank is completely across the line. The athlete is responsible to keep the tank inside his lane. The athlete cannot modify any adjustment on the drag resistance nor the load that carries, doing so will incur in elimination from the competition.

The athlete starts on the start / finish mat, after the sound of the beep; the athlete will perform 40 double unders, then will run to the other side of the field to push the tank mid field for 20m. The athlete will go back to the jumping area where he/she will jump another 40 double unders, then will push the tank for the last 20 meters. The athlete will perform 40 double unders to then pull from the strings attached to the tank and drag it mid field for 20 meters. Then perform another 40 double unders for the last time before dragging the tank for the last 20 meters to the other side of the field, once the tank is across the final line, the athlete will run back to the start / finish mat, time stops when the athlete steps on it.

Master +35 athletes jump 30 double unders.

Movement Standards

Double Under
The rope passes under the feet twice for each jump. The rope must spin forward for the rep to count. Only successful jumps are counted, not attempts.
Tank Push
The tank starts behind the line. The athlete will push the tank forward until it has crossed the line completely. The athlete is responsible to keep the tank inside his lane. The athlete cannot modify any adjustment on the drag resistance nor the load that carries, doing so will incur in elimination from the competition.
Tank Drag
The tank starts behind the line. The athlete will pull from the strings attached to the tank, so the tank moves towards the athlete’s position (backwards) until the tank is completely across the line. The athlete is responsible to keep the tank inside his lane. The athlete cannot modify any adjustment on the drag resistance nor the load that carries, doing so will incur in elimination from the competition.
